Add Your Temple

No temple should fade into oblivion. Join the effort to preserve the history, traditions, and significance of our sacred spaces.

🙏 Why This Matters

Every temple carries a sacred history and a spiritual legacy. TempleDiary.in is a community-driven platform dedicated to preserving these stories and sharing them with the world.

In Bharat, hundreds of temples were destroyed by invasions — but thousands went into oblivion because of our own negligence and coordinated efforts to disregard and erase our heritage from the minds of the people.

Now it's our turn to put a full stop to it.

Join hands in building a comprehensive All-India Temple Directory. It already contains over 3,800 temples. Now it's your chance to keep the legacy of your temple online — visible to the world and future generations.

We don't need iron pillars or grand encyclopedias to preserve our heritage today. The infrastructure is already in place. All it takes is 3 minutes of your time, and not a single penny.

📋 Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 & 2 — Check if it's listed

Before adding, search for your temple on the homepage. Select your state or use the All India search bar. If it doesn't appear, you're ready to add it.

Step 3 — Open the form and fill the details

Click the big red button at the bottom of this page to open the submission form. Here is what you'll need to enter:

Field What to Enter
Temple Name Full name of the temple (e.g. Pazhavangadi Ganapathy Temple)
State & District Select the state from the dropdown, and type the district.
Location The town, village, or a direct Google Maps link.
Description / History The backstory, history, and significance. This is the most important part — let the whole world know the history of your temple!

Step 4 — Adding Exact Location Coordinates

You have two easy options to provide the exact location:

Option A — You are inside or near the temple 📍
  • Simply tick ✅ "I am inside the temple" on the form.
  • It will automatically fetch your location (allow location permission when prompted). That's it!
Option B — You are at home 🗺️
  1. Open Google Maps on your phone or computer.
  2. Find your temple's location on the map.
  3. Drop a red pin on the exact location (long press on the spot).
  4. You'll see two numbers pop up (for example: 8.3569, 78.25978).
  5. The first number is Latitude, the second is Longitude. Copy-paste these into the form.

Step 5 — Submit! ✅

Review the details once and hit Submit. Your temple will be reviewed and added to the directory.
